Guests know her as the receptionist at Westside Volkswagen, but over the past four months she could be found in the ensemble of 12 singing and dancing nuns in Sister Act at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres.
“Acting is my primary career,” said Leslie Brown. Dancing and singing since age five and graduating from a
theater arts program in California, she was recruited by Chanhassen. To date, she has performed in over 25
shows, ranging from lead actress to supporting roles. “It has been especially meaningful that I have been with Chanhassen for some long runs and one show after another,” said Brown. “It has been a second home for me.” This long employment stretch allowed her to stay in the Midwest, raise a family and keep her acting career.
Sister Act was especially exhausting due to lots of quick steps, quick movements and music harmonies. Her credits include: A Chorus Line, The Sound of Music, Oklahoma!, Cats, Singin’ in the Rain, and 42nd Street.
