The raw determination, persistence and personal funding of an Internet manager at Luther Nissan Kia, and some help from the store, netted more than 100 bicycles for people, mostly children, in Jamaica.
About a year ago, J.P. Liesenfeld issued his challenge, and kept his eyes on Craigslist, traveling all over the
state to pick up free bikes. He found companies to donate the shipping. After 23 days stuck in a Jamaican port, the ocean container was finally released and J.P. and his crew had about 90 minutes to distribute them before he was due at the airport. “We got through it and it was just life changing,” he said.
