Hard work and team building were big drivers behind the recognition given to Luther Auto’s highest performing shops at this year’s “Best of the Best” awards.
“It’s really changing the culture, that’s one of the biggest things,” said Service Specialist Tim Stoesz with Motors Management. “It’s communicating an open door policy. Let’s work together through it and come up with solutions.”
For fixed operations performance, four facilities rose to the top, leading service, parts and collision and glass functions, in that order. Brookdale Toyota Scion, Bloomington Acura Subaru, Luther Collision and Glass in Fargo and Luther Auto Glass led the pack.

“It has nothing to do with what I do and everything to do with what everybody else is doing,” said Brookdale Toyota Service Manager Steve Miller, who said there are times when it’s better for him to get out of the way. The manager said his staff members understand their roles, and do outstanding work. Service advisors, some of them with nearly 30 years at the store, connect well with guests. A few technicians have more than four decades with Luther. “They’re here that long for a reason. They’re very good at what they do.”
Bruce Pap, a parts manager for four years, leads the top department at Bloomington Acura Subaru. He also has a veteran staff. The store often runs side by side with White Bear Acura Subaru, he notes his counterpart has shared a wealth of experience with the store on the Bloomington strip.
Accelerated or quick service is new to Bloomington Acura, and has increased volume on the service drive. Pap said the store benefits from strong relationships between departments.
For Luther Auto Glass, Manager Todd Hickey said his operation keeps people at the dealerships informed about glass services, and employees provide guests with the service in the office and in the field that they expect and deserve.
Best of the Best winners were joined by three Most Valuable Player title-holders: Bloomington Kia, Brookdale Honda and Luther Paintless Dent Repair.
Kia Service Manager Andrew Willman said he looks forward to continued growth. His MVP counterpart at Brookdale Honda, Bryan Stumpf, said the award was humbling, and came as a complete surprise. “Our amazing service team, they are the ones who put in the long hours and hard work to gain the results that we have.”
