A receptionist and a general manager each wheeled down the pavement under their own power in support of the multiple sclerosis cause in the MS 150.
Linda Wright at Luther Nissan Kia biked the event for the fourth time, and Westside VW GM Steve Hendricks marked his 29th.
“It was a special weekend,” said Wright, who joined a team from Cargill, rolling out at 6:30 each morning. She even had some road time with a man name Gerard, who was diagnosed with MS two years ago. Others shared their stories at a banquet in Duluth. “It was quite moving,” said Wright.
Hendricks rode with two guests and raised just over $7,000. With training rides included, he has pedaled more than 9,000 miles for the MS cause since 1986. The GM’s support letter plays off the nicknames of “Tailwinds” and Steve “Slow Spoke.”
Participants rode from Duluth to the Twin Cities.
