Chad Huffman at Luther Kia of Bloomington, targeted wholesale accounts in parts and scored big.
The parts manager hit his mark, with record sales on several months. Kia took notice, and presented the Kia Parts Sales Excellence Award this summer. Only three dealerships in the Central time zone reached $1 million or more in parts sales, and Bloomington was one of them.
Huffman saturated area shops with more than a thousand goody boxes, candy, note pads and pens, all while increasing his parts inventory. Free, twice a day deliveries and availability were big selling points, he said. “If you can’t deliver, they’ll find someone else.” To many shops, time is money so Huffman’s same day and overnight services are worth the freight expense. “They need the part as fast as possible,” he said.
“Guest service is number one. That’s what I learned form my teacher, Jerry Phillips at Brookdale Chevrolet,” said Huffman. “I want to the be the best, and I have the passion and drive to do it.”
