VW competition strong for south metro’s 360 Communities

Team Passat’ in sales won the competition, and one member managed to get 30 packages of diapers into a Target cart. From left are Mark Larson, Mike Barcalow, Chad Radue, Linda Radue, John Trombley and Garry Erickson. Not pictured: Hayden Hengel.

A contest that gave a chance for higher team weight totals for particular donations helped quadruple a Burnsville VW food shelf effort over 2013 levels.

The competition supporting 360 Communities had times when teams could also steal certain items from competitors and double their donation weights.  “The goal was 2,000 pounds and it was an amazing event,” said payroll administrator Jenny Benson.  “Some of the guys were like little kids, saying ‘What did they bring?’” said receptionist Susan Gugamos.

A Christmas tree on the floor was thoroughly surrounded by 2,120 actual pounds of needed items.
