“He actually started with Youth Frontiers as a fifth grader,” said Matt Oquist, community engagement coordinator with Luther.  “This was an easy one for us to jump in and offer that scholarship.”

The award resulted from Yang’s “strength of character and his commitment to helping others,” according to Youth Frontiers.  He was recognized at the group’s Ethical Leadership Luncheon, where he received a standing ovation from a crowd of 500 business and community leaders.  Luther also sponsored the event.

Luther has been a regular supporter of Youth Frontiers, an organization that uses school retreats to teach respect and other values.
