“Minute to win it” television show type games, golf putts and plenty of baked goods brought out supporters for the United Way at Park Place Motors charity event in Rochester.
Planner and new car biller Alicia Rathbun said the putting competition was particularly funny when some skilled golfers on staff found out that they would compete with Little Tykes putt putt balls and clubs. “No one had an advantage over anyone else,” she said. The technicians won.
Employees who made a one time gift could designate a charity effort, such as education or health, she explained. Education and elder care were popular. Silent auction prizes included tickets for the Fleetwood Mac concert, Vikings games and the Renaissance Fair. Event proceeds benefit local causes through the United Way of Olmsted County.
