Add employees from nine Luther Auto dealerships, a Luther service provider and a cause that affects so many, and the tires heat up for some sticky action. The Arthritis Foundation Mini Grand Prix at Stockholm Motorsports Park in Cokato has become an annual August tradition for Luther employees. The drivers take time out to compete among 28 teams, which together raised $50,000, a new record.
“This has always been a fun event and with the new race surface, this year’s racing topped them all!” said organizer Tom Boehland.
“It’s a fun day to get out on a Sunday … with several races throughout the day and multiple heats,” said Joe Portillo, GSM at Rudy Luther’s Toyota & Scion. “Our team won the losers bracket, so we were the best of the worst.” Other stores represented include Bloomington Hyundai, Brookdale Honda, Brookdale Toyota, Fiat of Bloomington, Hopkins Honda, Jaguar Land Rover Minneapolis, Luther Auto Performance Studio, North Country Ford and Westside VW.
