The company and staff members at Luther Auto’s Home Office are sponsoring a 6-year-old boy in Haiti with a monthly donation and gift boxes sent each quarter.
Called “Shoeboxes for Schnaider,” Luther Auto sent a second gift box in January, said Julia Hazlett, with the Home Office.
Schnaider is connected to Luther Auto through Lifeline Christian Mission, a group that company executives met with on a trip to Haiti early in 2012. A
long with gifts and financial support, Luther sent Schnaider and his family a letter explaining what the company does, Hazlett explained.
The first box sent contained mostly toys and gifts, but the latest shipment has specific items that were requested, such as toothbrushes and soap.
