Tim Jubie is getting a better understanding of different cultures, thanks to the Summer Youth Exchange Program.
The Hudson Chevrolet GMC general manager hosted Dorian Medrano, 16, from France. He learned that the European country offers strong incentives for a college education, which costs about $300 a year.
Hosting students is a great opportunity for “empty nesters” to enhance cultural experiences and make friends internationally, he said.
The Jubie’s hosted a second exchange student through the Rotary International Youth Exchange program, Josh Garberding from Bielefeld, Germany. Connecting with Jubie’s two sons, Jacob and Nicholas, the exchange student enjoyed snowmobiling and snowboarding, and his hosts even turned shoveling into a fun experience. The Jubie’s hope to see him this summer during a trip to Europe.
